Quay Street, Auckland CBD

Quay St is a critical gateway street to and from the Auckland city centre with passengers from ferries, trains and cruise ships all passing through. It is expected that over the next 10 years, 8 times as many people will use this space to travel around the city centre.

With wider footpaths, dedicated bike lanes and a decreased roading footprint the space has been transformed into a welcoming well connected public space improving connection between the city centre and waterfront.

Walkspace was proud to be involved supplying the bespoke stone mounted seating as well as Auckland Councils Waterfront Seating suite. The inclusion of Walkspace’s DF_02 Accessible Drinks Fountain, BR_01 Bike Racks and BN_02 Twin Recycling Bins provide and enhance alternative forms of transport and further encourage recycling.

Adjoining Quay St is Te Wānanga, (the new downtown public space). Walkspace developed and supplied the bespoke blasted pattern work which references the sites location and sea life.  Additional non-slip blasting to the remaining wharf deck areas was also undertaken to ensure safety during any weather event.
