The South Frame is a major urban arterial project within the Christchurch Rebuild. Walkspace were contracted to carry out the detail design and supply of the complete suite of bespoke street furniture throughout the project. Working in colaboration with Otakaro, Jasmax and Landlab to deliver their vision throughout.

The South Frame is a series of gardens, pavements, laneways and public gathering places. It will link the Innovation Precinct, Health Precinct and beyond. The look and feel will reflect the braided rivers of the Canterbury Plains The South Frame will be a place for markets, events and celebrations – an area to gather, dine, be entertained or just relax.

At the heart of the South Frame will be the Greenway, a pedestrian and cycling corridor with distinctive gardens that will run the entire east-west length of the development. Matai Common centres this Greenway and is the first major section of the South Frame to open to the public

The Greenway will connect four gathering spaces. Lanes branching off the Greenway will provide access to retail and hospitality businesses housed in restored or new buildings
