Located right next to the New Brighton Pier, the New Brighton Community Playground recently underwent some major rework as part of a wider coastal protection works package.
Development Christchurch Ltd (DCL) sought feedback from local school pupils to hear first hand what they wanted to see in their new playground and through consultation developed the final design. Locals will be please also to know the the iconic whale has remained and been faithfully restored to its former glory.
Three zones; Water Play, Dry Zone and a Toddlers zone offer the public a unique and distinct location to visit and enjoy over the warmer months. Further stages including a heated salt water pool are currently under construction through 2018 / 2019.
As part of Walkspace's involvement in the project, we supplied our catalogue F-05 bollards in both removable and fixed options, our DF_01 Drinks Fountain as well as a large array of bespoke seating throughout the site, all designed and manufactured to withstand the harsh marine environment as well as the kids going nuts with the water play equipment!
