Sumner is located 10 km southeast of Christchurch city. To the west the beach is bound by the Avon and Heathcote rivermouth, and to the east is the headland of Cave rock, which separates Sumner from Scarborough beach.

Sumner Surf Life Saving Club was founded in 1911 with the 55 year old clubhouses damaged beyond repair during the February 22nd earthquake of 2011. The new clubhouses are now nearing completion and will once again serve a vital community role in training and protecting people from harm in the water.

Walkspace provided the outdoor seating elements to the project in the form of two large precast concrete units. Each of the units comprised three smaller units butted together onsite to assist in freight and placement. The unique concrete recipe mix contains local Port Hills granite mixed into the precast to home the units to the site.

As always, if you require any further information, or would like to discuss your requirements don't hesitate to contact the team at Walkspace.
